Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector to join our growing team. Inspectors are the face of our company, detailing vehicle conditions and communicating findings clearly to clients.

Responsibilities include inspections at various sites, preparing condition reports, and supporting the sales team to maximize client satisfaction. Travel to dealerships and off-lease locations is required, with emphasis on accuracy and customer service.

Qualifications

• 1 year(s) experience in the automobile field (body, paint and mechanical repair knowledge) with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods of time.
• Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness and innovative approaches.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating in a team.
• Excellent communication to understand customer needs and expectations.
• Valid driver’s license and use of a validly registered and insured motor vehicle required.
• Knowledge of system capabilities and relevant software/web-based tools.
• Ability to perform manual labor such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to or more than 25 lbs, bending, and squatting.
• Ability to operate a manual and automatic transmission.
• Vision abilities to identify small defects around and underneath vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Actively support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease to detect damage and mechanical issues.
• Prepare and submit reports of vehicle condition and repair estimates.
• Assist sales team with upselling or cross-selling services and products.
• Interface with dealers to ensure client satisfaction and build relationships.
• Travel to dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles for bidding and purchasing on the platform.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to use the digital platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
