Job summary

Kenco Logistics is seeking an Automation Technician II in Joliet, IL to maintain and troubleshoot the company’s Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS). The role collaborates with operations and maintenance teams to improve reliability, reduce downtime, and drive throughput across automated conveyors and related equipment.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of mechanical experience with automated systems, PLCs, and a strong safety mindset, able to work at height and operate lifts when

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma, GED, or tech school graduate.
• 2–5 years of mechanic experience; preferably with automated systems and conveyors.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and PLC components of complex automation systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems on multiple equipment types.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; capable of working under pressure.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance and diagnostics on ASRS and related automation equipment to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues within the ASRS and related systems.
• Collaborate with operations to optimize system performance and throughput.
• Assist in installation and commissioning of new ASRS components with lead technicians.
• Maintain parts inventory and repair records; document maintenance procedures.
• Train staff on basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
