Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation in Salt Lake City is seeking an Automation Technician II to assist in commissioning, startup and optimization of AS/RS systems, cranes and shuttles.

The role requires completing wiring terminations, hardware I/O checks, startup configurations, and field testing. Occasional travel (up to 70%) across North America is expected, with safety and documentation emphasized.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma in Industrial Automation or Mechatronics.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar automation technician role.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi or Omron PLCs is a plus.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and basic MS Office/Project/SharePoint.
• English fluency required; Japanese is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Terminate final wiring on cranes and shuttle equipment after installation.
• Verify hardware and perform I/O checks in the field.
• Start up and configure cranes, vertical lifts and shuttles per project specs.
• Follow commissioning procedures and suggest process improvements.
• Prepare and document test protocols before field deployment.
• Document as-built changes in engineering docs.
• Generate daily site reports detailing work and issues.
• Maintain schedules and flag delays to stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot with tools like multimeter and oscilloscope.
• Travel up to 70% across North America; passport required.
