Job summary

Cardinal Health at-Home Solutions DC in Elgin, IL is hiring an Automation Technician for Operations Maintenance on the 1st shift (6:00am–4:30pm, Mon–Fri; some weekend flexibility based on business needs). You will oversee AutoStore and SLAM systems, perform preventive maintenance, manage parts inventory, and troubleshoot complex automation equipment.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience with electrical/electronic systems, familiarity with Autostore tools, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with commercial operating systems and general maintenance procedures.
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of work order management experience.
• Experience with electrical and electronic principles and industrial electronics.
• Ability to diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot Autostore/SLAM systems using portals and helpdesks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain operational readiness of AutoStore (AS) and SLAM at automated locations.
• Manage inventory for repair parts and purchase replacements as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs per manufacturers guidance.
• Ensure availability of tools and supplies to operate ASRS and related automation.
• Coordinate with PSI and Swisslog for tickets and system troubleshooting.
