Job summary

Battelle Energy Alliance in Idaho Falls is seeking a skilled software quality engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated tests for web, API, and desktop products. You will integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, leverage AI-assisted tooling, and help drive quality improvements across projects.

You will mentor junior engineers, define testable requirements, review changes for testability, and ensure compliance with DOE safety and privacy policies.

Qualifications

• Experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, API, and/or UI) using NUnit, xUnit, MSTest, JUnit, Selenium, or Playwright.
• IDE experience with Visual Studio or VS Code.
• Bachelor's degree or 11 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Agree to DOE O 142.3B Foreign National Access requirements and US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for web apps, back-end integrations, and desktop products.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with fast, reliable feedback and flaky-test handling.
• Collaborate early with developers to define testable requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Mentor junior engineers in automated testing and quality control practices.
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate test development and data generation.
• Document test plans, results, and quality metrics; propose process improvements.
