Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a driven Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering & Assurance team. You will design, develop, and maintain automated tests using Java and Python, perform API and database testing, and own quality for assigned features.

You’ll work with AI-powered applications, leverage CI/CD practices, and use tools like JIRA, Postman, and Rest Assured to ensure robust quality across our mission-critical platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation scripts and frameworks in Java and Python.
• Understanding of STLC and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered applications (chatbots, AI/ML systems).
• Experience with Hybrid Automation frameworks and CI/CD concepts/tools.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Docker.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Perform API testing and validate endpoints using Postman or Rest Assured.
• Conduct database testing with SQL queries for data integrity.
• Own quality for features by collaborating with PMs and developers and executing test suites.
• Track and report testing progress using JIRA, ADO, or ALM; understand CI/CD.
