Job summary

Battelle Energy Alliance is seeking a Software Engineer to join INL's Nuclear Science and Technology directorate in Idaho Falls. You will help design and enhance data management and AI ecosystem tools, including data frameworks, digital twins, and autonomy capabilities to support national energy research goals.

The role involves full-stack development, DevOps (CI/CD, containers, cloud/on‑prem), and collaboration with scientists and engineers across INL.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating technical approaches for complex data/software systems.
• Strong foundation in software engineering for data management, architecture, and visualization.
• Knowledge of data architecture and modeling for AI/ML.
• Familiarity with agentic AI workflows and real-world integration.
• Proficiency with DevOps practices including CI/CD and containerization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance data management and AI ecosystem tools.
• Architect digital systems for AI/ML data readiness and discoverability.
• Build agentic AI workflows within DeepLynx and related applications.
• Apply full-stack development across web, desktop, embedded, and hosted platforms.
• Implement DevOps practices for scalable deployment and maintenance.
• Follow agile, conduct code reviews, and maintain documentation.
• Integrate modeling/simulation capabilities into digital systems.
