Job summary

Werner Electric Supply, headquartered in Appleton, WI, is seeking an Automation Specialist to develop product knowledge, lead the Automation Specialists 팀, and coordinate launches with Marketing. You will provide pre-sale support, sizing and BOMs, and post-sale troubleshooting and training to customers.

The role requires customer-facing experience, travel readiness, and strong presentation skills, with a focus on collaboration across Sales, Marketing, and Solution teams.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to travel regularly; some overnight travel.
• Associate’s degree in Automation, Engineering, CS or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• 5–7 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Direct customer interaction experience required.
• Experience delivering presentations and demonstrations.
• Proven self-directed workload management.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive product knowledge across platforms.
• Manage and prioritize day-to-day work of Automation Specialists.
• Coordinate with Marketing to manage product launch activities.
• Provide pre-sales support: review specs, prepare BOMs, proofs of concept, performance tests, proper sizing and recommendations.
• Provide post-sales support: troubleshooting, product training, vendor escalation.
• Perform gap analysis to identify target customers for specific products.
• Use CRM to log and manage customer opportunities, tasks, and interactions.
• Collaborate with Account Managers and Solution Consultants on opportunities.
• Provide product-based training to internal teams (Sales, Customer Experience).
• Inform customers about new products and technology relevant to their industry.
• Analyze competitive product lines and differentiate accordingly.
• Manage prioritization of billable services (installations, assessments, surveys, training).
• Participate in AOP planning and trade shows.
