Job summary

Central Plains Cement in Sugar Creek, MO, is seeking an Automation Technician to join our plant. The role focuses on learning PLCs, HMIs, plant networks, and safety practices while collaborating with the Production team to improve system performance.

You will assist the Automation Coordinator with PLC maintenance, plant computers, and network systems, plus PID tuning and upgrades to optimize the cement process.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1 year of experience working in process systems in cement/manufacturing.
• Able to work in a team to improve plant operations and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to meet on-call responsibilities in a 24/7 operation after development criteria.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Automation Coordinator with maintenance of PLC systems.
• Assist with maintenance of plant control computers and supervisor controls.
• Assist with maintenance of plant network systems including company computers.
• Assist with tuning PID loops and promoting upgrades to improve performance.
• Collaborate with Electrical/Instrument Supervisor to optimize plant operations.
• Learn plant equipment operation and coordinate with Process Engineers to enhance control.
