Job summary

Irving Knight Group is seeking a compliance-focused Controls Engineer to support PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems at a major cement plant in Kansas City, MO. The role includes troubleshooting, programming assistance, and system upgrades.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Electrical/Automation/Controls engineering with 0–3 years of experience, and possess strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. Relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Automation/Controls or related field.
• 0–3 years of experience, including internships or co-ops.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, industrial controls, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems at a large-scale cement plant.
• Troubleshoot automation, instrumentation, electrical, and control system issues.
• Assist with programming, commissioning, system upgrades, and equipment startups.
• Support controls for crushers, mills, kilns, conveyors, packing systems, and material handling equipment.
• Assist with calibration and maintenance of plant instrumentation and sensors.
• Work with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, production, and efficiency.
• Maintain control system documentation, backups, and programming records.
• Follow all company safety, environmental, and process safety policies.

Compensation: $70k-$80k + Additional Benefits

• Support PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems at a large-scale cement plant
• Troubleshoot automation, instrumentation, electrical, and control system issues
• Assist with programming, commissioning, system upgrades, and equipment startups
• Support controls for crushers, mills, kilns, conveyors, packing systems, and material handling equipment
• Assist with calibration and maintenance of plant instrumentation and sensors

Requirements :
