Job summary

Irving Knight Group is seeking a compliance-focused Controls Engineer to support PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems at a major cement plant in Kansas City, MO. The role includes troubleshooting, programming assistance, and system upgrades.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Electrical/Automation/Controls engineering with 0–3 years of experience, and possess strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. Relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Automation/Controls or related field.
0–3 years of experience, including internships or co-ops.
Basic knowledge of PLCs, industrial controls, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Support PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems at a large-scale cement plant.
Troubleshoot automation, instrumentation, electrical, and control system issues.
Assist with programming, commissioning, system upgrades, and equipment startups.
Support controls for crushers, mills, kilns, conveyors, packing systems, and material handling equipment.
Assist with calibration and maintenance of plant instrumentation and sensors.
Work with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, production, and efficiency.
Maintain control system documentation, backups, and programming records.
Follow all company safety, environmental, and process safety policies.
