Job summary

Quikrete Materials is seeking an Automation Engineer to program PID loops and fully automate plant systems, including rock processing and cement operations. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize control systems and field equipment while coordinating with IT for data storage and system backups.

The role requires training Control Room Operators and Shift Supervisors in understanding control relationships and implementing full automatic control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field or 2-year technical degree with 5+ years experience.
• Ability to interpret control system requirements and select appropriate hardware/software.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for process optimization.
• Ability to train Control Room Operators and shift staff.

Responsibilities

• Program PID control loops to automate plant systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain control systems and field equipment.
• Train operators and supervisors in control concepts and operations.
• Coordinate with IT for data historian storage and system backups.
• Maintain logs of programming changes and ensure safety and compliance.
