Job summary

ZT Systems is hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to keep automated production cells running by maintaining conveyance, pneumatic systems, motors, and other mechanical equipment. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and cross-functional collaboration with Robotics and Controls teams.

The incumbent will lead root-cause analysis, manage critical spare parts, and train teammates to reduce downtime while supporting continuous improvement across the automation

Qualifications

• Trade school certification and 5+ years in automated manufacturing
• Deep mechanical/electromechanical troubleshooting in automated environments
• Troubleshoot conveyors, pneumatic actuators, motors, bearings, sensors
• Interpret mechanical drawings, pneumatic schematics, electrical diagrams
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs
• Lead repairs, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Own conveyance, pneumatic systems, and mechanical equipment for production cells
• Troubleshoot and repair conveyors, stoppers, actuators, motors, gearboxes, bearings, sensors
• Execute preventive/predictive maintenance across ~40 conveyance cells
• Manage spare-parts inventory based on criticality, history, lead time
• Collaborate with Robotics/Controls teams to troubleshoot cross‑functional issues
• Perform root-cause analysis to improve reliability and uptime
• Crosstrain to support robotic systems as backup
