Job summary
Amazon’s Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team seeks an Automation Engineer Manager to lead a team across fulfillment centers, drive equipment reliability, and mentor junior engineers. You will oversee controls automation, troubleshoot complex systems, and apply performance metrics to elevate uptime and safety.
You’ll work with conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, print/apply systems, and SCADA devices, delivering fast, accurate service to customers while building team capability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 7+ years automation/PLC experience in a production environment.
- Experience with industrial controls, robotics, and PLC systems.
- Knowledge of Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Codesys ladder logic and networking.
Responsibilities
- Lead automation engineers to ensure reliability and continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot and optimize PLC/PC-based control systems and SCADA platforms.
- Mentor junior engineers and develop training plans.
- Support fault diagnosis and root-cause analyses for downtime events.
- Oversee development of in-house automation solutions and integration with existing systems.
