Job summary

Atkore in Hobart, IN is seeking an Automation Engineer to support manufacturing and drive continuous improvement in automation, process controls, and SCADA systems. You will develop new processes and provide electrical project leadership, with a focus on production problem solving and tooling optimization.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering and 1–3 years of industrial experience, with Rockwell PLC programming, AutoCAD, and SCADA exposure; Lean and project management skills

Qualifications

• BS in an Engineering discipline is preferred.
• 1–3 years of Process/Manufacturing/Automation experience in industry.
• Experience with Rockwell PLC programming; Siemens is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SCADA systems, and Wonderware is preferred.
• Lean manufacturing and project management exposure are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Drive productivity improvements and support best practices.
• Lead projects with schedules, documentation, and cost tracking.
• Assist with Lean initiatives, process improvements, and problem solving.
• Provide electrical project bids, develop schematics, and trouble shooting guidelines.
• Implement and expand SCADA systems and support CI activities.
• Maintain plant electrical infrastructure and ensure safety codes.
• Guide E-Techs and electricians in troubleshooting and layouts.
• Develop and optimize layouts and material/ tooling for manufacturing needs.
