Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Automation Engineer to support site maintenance and optimize Material Handling Equipment control systems. The role collaborates with operations to troubleshoot and implement solutions for conveyors, sortation, scanners, and HMI/PLC platforms.

You will lead or assist technicians, ensure safety, and drive project timelines while maintaining a cutting-edge facility and a safety-first culture. Strong electrical/control systems experience is essential.

Qualifications

3+ years of cumulative work experience in programming/commissioning HMIs/PLCs/VFDs.
Experience with SCADA systems and KPIs.
Ability to interpret and modify mechanical/electrical drawings.
Experience supporting conveyors and sortation systems.
Experience with equipment control components (relays, motor starters, VFDs, HMIs).
Positive attitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Promote a safe working environment by following safety procedures.
Provide guidance on maintaining material handling control systems and electrical distribution systems.
Troubleshoot and modify software projects for material handling control systems (PLC/PC, Rockwell).
Act as first level escalation for automation issues and coordinate with vendors.
Apply expertise to maximize building utilization of systems.
Collaborate with operations leadership and vendors to plan new technology installations.
