Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and optimize MHE systems in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex controls, analyze performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement using state-of-the-art conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, print/apply systems, and SCADA.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support field technicians, and contribute to rapid order processing with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of process or production environment related PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain automation systems critical for operations
• Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC) and industrial networks
• Monitor MHE metrics and address performance issues with maintenance/operations
• Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians (local and remote)
• Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance material handling system performance
