Job summary
Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze performance metrics, and drive improvements across MHE systems using state-of-the-art technology.
You will work with conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and SCADA devices, delivering fast, accurate order fulfillment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/Automation or 2+ years PLC automation experience
- Willing to work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
- 2+ years PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience
- 2+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience
- 2+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience
- 2+ years of Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs experience
Responsibilities
- Maintain automation systems critical for operations
- Troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus)
- Monitor MHE metrics and collaborate with maintenance/operations on performance issues
- Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians
- Perform System Assessments to enhance material handling system performance
