Job summary

Amazon seeks an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and performance in our fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze performance data, and drive continuous improvement across MHE systems, including conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA devices.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, work with state‑of‑the‑art technology, and contribute to ensuring customers receive orders with Amazon's speed and accuracy.

Qualifications

• BS in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years PLC programming/automation experience.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/nights/holidays.
• 2+ years of PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience.
• 2+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• 2+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience.
• 2+ years of Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain automation systems critical for operations.
• Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems and networks.
• Monitor MHE metrics and analyze performance with maintenance/operations.
• Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians locally and remotely.
• Perform building System Assessments to enhance material handling performance.
