Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our controls and maintenance team supporting one of the world’s largest online retailers. You’ll troubleshoot and optimize MHE control systems, including PLCs, SCADA and networked devices, to maximize reliability and safety.

This role emphasizes proactive maintenance, incident response, and collaboration with site operations. You’ll mentor junior technicians, manage contractor work, and communicate project timelines

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting material handling control systems.
• Strong PLC programming and on-site/off-site support.
• Ability to read diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety by following codes and company directives.
• Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems.
• Act as first-level escalation for on-site and remote support.
• Inspect systems to ensure operation meets client design specs.
• Coordinate development scope and scheduling with outside contractors.
• Engineer process solutions to improve reliability from concept to implementation.
• Monitor Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, and related networks.
