Job summary

MAPEI is seeking an Automation Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 at the West Chicago, IL site. You will work with engineering, maintenance and operations teams to support automation and controls projects, gain hands-on experience with industrial equipment, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and control systems in a live manufacturing environment.

Pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in automation or related field.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a live manufacturing environment.
Interest in automation, controls, and reliability improvements.

Responsibilities

Support automation and controls projects for manufacturing equipment and processes.
Assist with PLC, HMI, sensor, instrumentation, and control-system activities.
Troubleshoot equipment and identify opportunities to improve reliability.
Collect and analyze equipment, process, and automation-performance data.
Support system testing, validation, documentation, and implementation.
Assist with technical drawings, reports, procedures, and project deliverables.
