Job summary

iA (Innovation Associates) is offering a 10-week Controls Engineering Intern program in a fast-paced environment. You will assist with automation projects, PLCs, HMIs and industrial networks, under supervision of experienced engineers.

The internship runs from June 1 to August 6, 2027 and emphasizes learning and hands-on experience. Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, with a basic grasp of control systems and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of control systems and automation concepts.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and commissioning of automation control systems, including PLCs, industrial networks and motor control systems.
• Support in writing, testing, and documenting PLC code under supervision.
• Help develop project scopes and system documentation.
• Participate in reviewing system requirements and control strategies with engineering staff.
• Assist in selecting components and reviewing technical specifications.
• Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
