Job summary

ProMach invites talented engineering students to join our 2027 Summer Internship Program as a Controls Engineer Intern. You will work with seasoned engineers to design, program, test, and commission PLC and HMI systems for packaging machinery.

You'll gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, learn industrial automation concepts, and contribute to meaningful projects while developing technical and professional skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechatronics, automation, or computer engineering.
• Basic understanding of PLC programming platforms (Rockwell/Siemens).
• Familiarity with HMI development and industrial automation concepts.
• Read electrical schematics and control panel design principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, programming, testing, and commissioning of PLC and HMI systems.
• Support integration of sensors, actuators, drives, and control components.
• Troubleshoot and debug electrical and control systems on automated machinery.
• Create and update electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Collaborate with Controls Engineers on upgrades and new product development.
• Conduct research and testing to improve machine performance.
• Support equipment validation activities and system testing.
• Follow safety policies and quality standards.
