Job summary

Amazon is offering a 10-week Automation Engineer Intern position at one of its fulfillment centers in the United States. You will maximize equipment reliability and operational performance by providing proactive controls automation support and troubleshooting complex control systems.

The role requires ongoing enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program with anticipated completion between Dec 2027 and Aug 2028, and expects near-term relocation to a suitable site.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with anticipated completion between December 2027 and August 2028.
Enrolled in a Bachelor's program for automation engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.
Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC) and industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).
Monitor MHE metrics and collaborate with maintenance/operations to address performance issues.
Lead an intern project to drive standard work and continuous improvement.
Be able to stand/walk up to 12 hours, climb stairs, and lift up to 49 pounds.
