Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years related engineering experience.
• Experience in analyzing process capabilities and developing/implementing product development and process improvement plans.
• Hands-on experience with factory automation including PLC, HMI, robotics, and vision systems.
• Lean manufacturing experience and use of MS Project to track schedules.

Responsibilities

• Ensures effective communication between mechanical and electrical systems (PLC, HMI, Vision Systems, Robotics).
• Leads control system design for new equipment and planned upgrades.
• Monitors and analyzes equipment performance to identify and implement improvements.
• Interfaces with Test Engineering for effective communication between equipment and databases.
• Analyzes production processes to identify work elements, time them, and optimize balance.
• Provides equipment support and troubleshooting expertise.
• Conceptualizes and implements industrial automation to reduce manual labor and improve quality.
• Applies continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing techniques to production areas.
• Supports visual management in a production environment.
• Evaluates capital equipment investments and prepares cost justifications; writes equipment specs for external vendors.
• Identifies and implements safety, quality, productivity, cost and delivery improvements.
