Job summary

Jobot is seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to design, develop, program, and optimize automated manufacturing systems in a Wyoming, MI-based facility. You will troubleshoot controls, develop PLC/HMI software, and support equipment launches on the factory floor.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with maintenance, electrical, mechanical, and process engineering teams, with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Competitive salary and strong benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation or related field.
Experience with industrial controls and automated manufacturing equipment.
Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills, preferably with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell.
Experience with HMI and industrial communication networks.
Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot control panels.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, program, troubleshoot, and improve industrial control systems and automated manufacturing equipment.
Develop and modify PLC programs, HMI applications, and machine controls.
Support launch, commissioning, debugging, and optimization of new production equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical, controls, instrumentation, and automation issues to minimize downtime.
Work closely with manufacturing, maintenance, electrical, mechanical, quality, and process engineering teams.
Develop and implement controls improvements increasing safety, quality, throughput, and reliability.
