Gowanda Electronics Corp. in Hornell, NY, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to drive automation, process improvements, and equipment integration to support growth. You will lead projects across operations, engineering, and quality with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience supporting manufacturing automation, controls, machine design, or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience leading projects from concept through implementation including vendor management, installation, validation, and budget oversight.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial controls, sensors, servo systems, motion control, drives, and industrial communications.
• Experience with robotics, machine vision, automated inspection, and material-handling equipment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Lean/Six Sigma mindset and ability to develop business cases and ROI analyses.

Responsabilités

• Identify opportunities to automate manual, labor-intensive, bottleneck, or error-prone processes.
• Design and implement automation initiatives to improve productivity, quality, throughput, safety, and consistency.
• Lead automation projects from concept through implementation including validation and production release.
• Specify and integrate automation equipment, robotic systems, vision systems, fixtures, tooling, and material handling solutions.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and process documentation.
• Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Provide technical support for PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and industrial networks.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, ROI analyses, and implementation plans.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and equipment integrators.
• Train operators and engineers on new systems and ensure long-term sustainability of solutions.
