Job summary

iNRCORE Group, a leader in high-reliability electronic components, seeks an Automation Engineer for its Hornell, NY facility. You will identify and implement automation solutions, leading projects from concept to production launch, with focus on robotics, machine vision, and automated assembly.

The role requires collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to improve productivity, quality, safety, and capacity while supporting Lean and Six Sigma

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years in industrial automation or related roles.
• Experience delivering automation projects from concept to startup and validation.
• Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to automate manual manufacturing processes.
• Develop automation roadmaps aligned with growth plans.
• Design, source, implement, and validate automation equipment.
• Lead projects through production launch and sustainment.
• Integrate robotics, machine vision, and material handling into operations.
• Create justifications and ROI analyses for automation investments.
• Produce equipment specs and coordinate with suppliers and integrators.
• Support PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and control networks.
• Troubleshoot and optimize automated equipment for reliability.
• Analyze production data to quantify automation impact.
• Maintain engineering drawings, docs, and validation records.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to boost efficiency.
• Assist in Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and training.
• Develop operating procedures and training materials.
• Provide technical support across the facility.
