Job summary
SpaceX is seeking a Manager of Automation and Controls Engineering to own the design, build-out, commissioning, and continuous improvement of automation, electrical systems across Starbase power generation and utilities. You will lead a team of engineers in a high-reliability, fast-paced environment, reviewing control philosophies and commissioning details to keep critical systems running.
Based on site at Starbase, TX, you will scale the controls program as Starship production and launch
Qualifications
- BS/BE in Electrical, Controls, Automation or related field.
- 8+ years in automation and controls engineering on large power/industrial assets.
- 3+ years in people leadership or team management.
- Hands-on with DCS/SCADA, PLC, and control system integration.
Responsibilities
- Own automation and controls scope for gas, steam, and power assets from design to commissioning.
- Lead electrical integration, switchgear, protection, and SCADA interfaces.
- Mentor engineers and technicians, scale team with capacity growth.
- Review control philosophies, narratives, and electrical schematics.
- Collaborate with EPCs and OEMs to ensure on-schedule commissioning.
