Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Manager of Automation & Controls Engineering to own the design, build‑out, commissioning, and continuous improvement of automation, controls, and electrical systems across Starbase’s power generation assets. You will lead a team in a high‑reliability, fast‑paced environment, reviewing P&IDs, control philosophies, and DCS/PLC architectures to ensure reliable operation at scale.

The role focuses on gas turbine, steam, and utility-scale systems, with responsibilities spanning

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation Engineering or related field.
8+ years in automation and controls, with industrial power generation or large-scale critical power experience.
3+ years leading a team of engineers or technicians.

Responsibilities

Own automation and controls scope for power generation projects and assets.
Lead integration of utility-scale electrical power systems with control networks.
Mentor and scale the automation and controls team to meet production growth.
Review control philosophy documents, diagrams, and panel designs for compliance and reliability.
Interface with OEMs, EPCs, and internal disciplines to ensure on-schedule commissioning.
