Job summary

SpaceX in Starbase, TX is seeking an Automation and Controls Engineer to design, build, operate, and maintain automation and SCADA for ground infrastructure and utilities supporting Starship production and launch.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor technicians, and ensure safety and compliance with NFPA/NEC standards; travel to other SpaceX facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 1+ years designing automation and control systems; internships qualify.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain automation and control systems for ground infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams; lead projects; drive continuous improvements.
• Manage upgrades to scale systems for Starship production targets.
• Develop standardized automation for power and utility systems.
• Maintain documentation for all SCADA systems.
• Design, deploy, and manage PLC/HMI/SCADA applications in a high-reliability setting.
• Create electrical schematics and NFPA/NEC/UL 508A compliant panels.
• Plan and mentor a team of engineers and technicians; prioritize weekly tasks.
