Job summary

100Hires, Inc. is seeking an automation engineer to diagnose and program PLCs and industrial robots across multiple plants. You will design PLC control solutions for new machines and upgrades, and travel to sister facilities to provide on-site expertise.

You will own project timelines, optimize line flow, and work with process engineering to resolve cycle-time and quality issues. The role includes training teammates and contributing to preventive maintenance planning.

Qualifications

BSEE or BSME required.
3–5 years programming and troubleshooting PLCs and industrial robots.
1–3 years with Siemens S7 is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support production by diagnosing and programming legacy and new plant automation systems to minimize downtime.
Design and program PLC-based control solutions for new machinery and existing equipment upgrades.
Travel to sister facilities to complete core responsibilities and provide on-site expertise.
Own timelines—maintain reliable project and task schedules across multiple plant initiatives.
Program robots and adjust points to meet evolving production needs.
Partner with production and process engineering to optimize line flow and resolve cycle-time constraints.
Contribute to preventive maintenance planning for current and incoming equipment.
Advance new technologies that improve cycle times and strengthen quality detection/prevention systems.
Train plant technicians and engineers on controls fundamentals and best practices.
Create and update equipment electrical drawings to reflect as-built conditions.
Collaborate with plant teams to build accurate cost/effort quoting models.
