Job summary

Ichor Systems, Inc. seeks an Automation Engineer to design, implement, and optimize automation solutions for high-volume manufacturing.

You will work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to improve safety, quality, and throughput, with a focus on equipment build-out and scalable automation. The role covers PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motion control, and integration of automated equipment, with on‑site work and travel to support installations and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field and relevant experience.
• 3+ years in automation, controls, or a related role.
• Hands-on experience with industrial automation and equipment.
• Experience programming, configuring, or troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems.
• Knowledge of sensors, actuators, motors, motion control, and industrial controls.
• Experience with EtherCAT architectures and IEC 61131-3 Structured Text.
• Read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and support automation solutions for manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual or repetitive processes and improve safety, quality, cost, capacity, and throughput.
• Develop and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion control, robotic, and other industrial control systems.
• Support integration of automated equipment, sensors, controls, and manufacturing systems.
• Lead or support automation projects from concept through installation, validation, and production release.
