Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer for Starlink assembly manufacturing. You will lead multi-disciplinary projects spanning machine design, robotics, motion systems, and factory health monitoring to deliver high-rate factories for global broadband access.

The role emphasizes PLC programming, electrical design, and HMI development, with safety compliance and collaborative teamwork across engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering, physics, or computer science discipline.
• 1+ years of experience in industrial or factory automation design and implementation or related projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage automation projects from ideation to hand-off.
• Architect, write, and debug PLC code for high-volume manufacturing.
• Ensure safety compliance with ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA for robots, gantries, conveyors, and equipment.
• Create simple, intuitive HMI screens for complex machines.
• Design electrical systems compliant with NEC, NFPA, UL508A.
• Plan schedules and budgets and motivate the team to achieve them.
