SpaceX is seeking a Senior Automation and Controls Engineer for Satellites (Starlink) in Redmond, WA. You will lead multi‑disciplinary automation projects spanning machine design, robotics, motion systems, and factory health monitoring to enable high‑rate satellite production.

Role requires deep PLC, electrical, and HMI expertise, with emphasis on safe, compliant, scalable systems. Join a team delivering cutting‑edge satellites and the Starlink factory of the future.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science.
• 5+ years in industrial automation design or electro‑mechanical/robotic/automated systems.
• Experience with PLC programming and robotics is preferred.
• Knowledge of ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA safety, NEC/NFPA/UL508A codes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage automation projects.
• Architect, write, and debug PLC code for high‑volume manufacturing.
• Ensure safety and reliability with ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA compliant systems.
• Create simple, intuitive HMI screens for complex machines.
• Design electrical systems compliant with NEC, NFPA, UL508A.
• Create schedules and budgets and motivate the team.
