Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking an Account Manager / Sales Engineer to join our Greensboro/Winston-Salem/Roanoke area team. You will grow the territory by bringing in new business and developing repeat business with engineers, maintenance, and purchasing teams.

You will conduct sales activities, prepare quotes, and organize trainings while working toward sales and profit goals, with a consultative approach and strong coordination with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Proven outside industrial sales experience with a track record of growing a territory.
• Ability to develop repeat business and new accounts with consultative selling.
• Familiarity with robotics, machine vision, motion control, and/or IIoT is a plus.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with good time management.
• Proficient in Excel and basic computer skills; prefer engineering background.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sales and service activities, build customer relationships, identify applications.
• Achieve sales and profit goals by expanding existing accounts and opening new business.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, negotiate terms, and close transactions.
• Organize training sessions for customers.
• Survey market and competitive conditions; complete reports on activities.
• Collaborate with engineers and purchasing teams to determine needs.
