Job summary

Young Automotive Group is looking for a Service Advisor/Service Writer to act as the liaison between customers and service technicians, ensuring clear communication and outstanding service throughout the repair process.

Qualifications

• Two years related experience and/or training required.
• History of solid and successful employment with good references.
• Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
• Prior sales experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Schedules service appointments and obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival.
• Writes up customer’s vehicle problems accurately and clearly on repair orders.
• Advises customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications.
• Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service.
• Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
• Checks on progress of repair and communicates changes to customers.
• Explains costs and time requirements in detail and obtains proper authorization for additional work.
• Keeps service department forms, menus and pricing guides up-to-date.
• Explains completed work and all charges to customers.
• Implements a quality control process to prevent comebacks.
• Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
