CNA Insurance is seeking an APD Director to lead a 40+ claims professionals team, guiding strategy, performance, and service quality across auto physical damage. The role drives operational excellence, cost management, and customer outcomes while shaping the evolution of the claims function.

The position offers a flexible, hybrid schedule and opportunities for leadership growth within CNA’s claims organization, reporting to VP, Field Liability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus Master’s preferred or equivalent experience.
• Typically a minimum of ten years of related work experience, with three years of management experience preferred.
• Auto physical damage background strongly preferred; other auto bodily injury experience a plus.
• Certifications or professional designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead claims professionals and managers, set expectations, coach, and develop staff.
• Drive profitability by managing productivity and expenses and overseeing vendors.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality, timely claim service and initiatives.
• Oversee claim handling protocols, monitoring quality dashboards and training needs.
• Use data analytics to monitor performance and develop efficiency strategies.
• Manage department and claims expenses while leveraging internal and external resources.
• Build collaborative partnerships across internal/external teams to optimize operations.
• Communicate updates to employees with regular meetings and accessible documentation.
• Participate with senior leadership in developing strategies and evaluating performance.
