Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts is hiring a Parts Specialist to provide high-level service to retail and installer customers and to support store management in daily tasks. The role involves greeting customers, advising on merchandise, handling transactions, returns, and store operations, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly and professional customer service.
• Must be able to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store at the same time.
• Desired: Familiar with automotive parts, cataloging, weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service ASE certification; fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote all company customer service programs, e.g. Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot.
• Greet retail/walk-in customers in a friendly, courteous manner and assist them in selecting merchandise.
• Assist managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed.
• Complete assigned company training relevant to position.
• Provide excellent service to customers calling the store on the phone by looking up parts, quoting prices, recommending items, and offering the Low-Price Guarantee.
• Maintain and secure the cash drawer, accept payments, make change, and process credit card transactions.
• Process exchanges and returns for credit per policies.
• Address and resolve customer complaints.
• Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, stocking shelves, freight receival, etc.
• Perform daily operational tasks including merchandise returns to distribution center and inventory tasks.
• Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training.
• Perform in-store services for customers (e.g., install wipers, test/battery service, codes, etc.).
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate.
• All other duties as assigned.
