Fields Auto Group in Asheville, NC is seeking an Accounting Manager/Controller to lead the office team and oversee all accounting operations. The role focuses on general ledger, financial statements, payroll, tax compliance, and vendor management within a dealership environment.

The candidate should be highly organized, discreet with confidential information, and capable of process improvement to support a growing business.

Qualifications

• Experience in car dealership required.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with business applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee office staff, including hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplining, terminating, etc.
• Oversight of accounting function and related information
• Responsible for all aspects of general ledger
• Prepare and analyzes financial statements and monthly reports in a timely manner
• Understanding of the payroll process and related tax systems
• Oversees vendor management and outsourcing
• Complies with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filing
• Inspect accounting records and schedules for efficiency and accuracy
• Organize and update financial records
• Perform various monthly reconciliations
• Assist in preparing documentation for external auditors
• Performs other duties or projects as assigned.
