Job summary

TRISTAR is seeking a claims professional to review policy coverage and manage automobile physical damage, property damage liability, and total loss claims through final resolution. You will coordinate with claimants, insureds, attorneys, vendors, and clients to determine exposure and strategy.

The role requires strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, experience in claims handling, and the ability to work independently while meeting regulatory and client requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years of automobile claims-handling experience.
• Knowledge of policy interpretation, coverage analysis, liability assessment, and reserving.
• Ability to investigate, negotiate, and resolve claims with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret policy coverage and investigate, evaluate, process, negotiate, and resolve assigned automobile physical damage, property damage liability and total loss claims.
• Oversee outside service providers, including appraisers and investigators, and work with clients, counsel and other involved parties to move claims toward resolution.
• Maintain an accurate diary system and complete all required follow-up activities.
• Evaluate claim exposure and establish reserves and settlement strategies based on available information.
• Prepare comprehensive loss reports with analysis of coverage, liability, damages, exposure, reserves, and next steps.
• Document all correspondence, reports, discussions, evaluations, and claim decisions in the file.
• Independently conduct claim file reviews and ensure proper documentation in accordance with requirements.
• Provide timely, professional service to clients, claimants, insureds, and other involved parties.
• Engage TRISTAR Loss Control staff when appropriate.
• Comply with policies, procedures, client instructions, and applicable regulatory requirements.
