Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver an exceptional customer experience through meticulous repair of each vehicle to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles while upholding speed, quality, and customer excellence as a Brand Ambassador of The Boyd Group.

You will work with the team to plan repairs, use tools, and ensure work orders meet labor time guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Tech school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship required.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Ability to collaborate with other repairers in the shop.
• Solid understanding of vehicle body repair methods.
• Proficient in using tools required for the trade.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work that is necessary and prepares cost estimates for customers.
• Uses various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage if possible; applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces with new or aftermarket parts; repairs glass as needed.
• Replaces or repairs interior parts as needed; welds and fits parts and repaints vehicles.
• Attempts to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspects post-repair vehicles.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
