Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Rochester Hills, MI is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver expert repairs and exceptional customer service. You will meticulously disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles, restore them to pre-accident condition, and work with the WOW Operating Way to meet KPIs and quality standards.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, technical training or a 3-year apprenticeship, and solid experience with body repair tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program or 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers and pliers to repair sections.
• Hammer out dents and apply filler resins when needed.
• Realign chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Replace damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts and repair glass as needed.
• Weld and attach parts, and repaint vehicles to factory specs or equivalents.
