Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Technician to meticulously repair vehicles, assess damage, and restore cars to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles, align frames, and install parts with a focus on speed, quality, and customer excellence.

The role requires completing technical training or an apprenticeship, plus proficiency with traditional body shop tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Thorough understanding of methods/procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

Responsibilities

• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles to restore pre-accident condition.
• Realign chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Replace damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts; repair glass and interiors as needed.
• Weld and attach parts; prep and repaint vehicles to factory specs or equivalent.
• Ensure work orders are completed within labor time guidelines and inspected for quality.
