Gerber Collision & Glass in Portage, Indiana, is seeking an Auto Body Technician to provide exceptional customer experiences through meticulous vehicle repairs. You will disassemble, repair, reassemble, and restore vehicles to pre-accident condition while upholding the company’s speed, quality and customer-excellence promises.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with technical schooling or a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship completed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work and prepares cost estimates for customers; uses cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers and pliers.
• Dents and minor body damage repaired with filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces with new or aftermarket parts; replaces or repairs glass and windshields.
• Replaces or repairs interior parts as needed.
• Welds and fits parts; prepares and repaints vehicles to factory specs or equivalent.
• Ensures work orders are completed within labor time guidelines and inspects vehicles post-repair.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
