Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver exceptional customer experiences through meticulous vehicle repair. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles while upholding speed, quality, and customer excellence across the shop.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus a technical program or apprenticeship. You’ll work with a skilled team, use diverse tools, and join a company with a long history of industry leadership.

Qualifications

• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work that is necessary and prepares cost estimates for customers.
• Uses various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage if possible; applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces with new or aftermarket parts; repairs glass when needed.
• Replaces or repairs interior parts; welds and fittings with factory paint.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect final results.
