Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Technician to repair vehicles to pre-accident condition while delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will disassemble, repair, reassemble, and repaint vehicles, adhering to speed, quality, and customer-excellence standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus technical training or apprenticeship. Strong teamwork, tool proficiency, and safety awareness are essential, with the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair required.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work and prepares cost estimates for customers using appropriate tools.
• Hammers out dents and applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces parts, including glass and interior components.
• Welds and fits parts, then repaints to factory specs or equivalents.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
