Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Technician in Springfield, MO to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition with meticulous repair work. You disassemble, repair, reassemble and refinish vehicles, aligning chassis and replacing parts to meet quality standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a technical program or a 3-year apprenticeship; strong teamwork and tool proficiency are essential for success in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work and prepares cost estimates for customers.
• Uses cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents and applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces with new/aftermarket parts; repairs glass and windshields.
• Welds and attaches parts; prepares and repaints vehicles to spec.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
