Gerber Collision & Glass in Sanford, NC is seeking an Auto Body Technician who will expertly assess and repair vehicles to pre-accident condition, driving speed, quality and customer excellence. You’ll disassemble, repair, reassemble and ensure repairs meet KPI targets as part of a collaborative team.

The role emphasizes reading job orders, using body shop tools, and safe work in a dynamic environment with opportunities for growth, education, and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair preferred.
• Ability to read job orders and work with little supervision.
• Thorough understanding of methods to repair vehicle bodies and use essential tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work and prepares cost estimates for customers using various tools.
• Hammers out dents and applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces with parts; repairs glass and interiors as needed.
• Welds and fits parts; prepares and repaints vehicles to factory specs.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles for quality.
