The technician role focuses on planning repairs, performing high-quality body work, and maintaining timely progress while collaborating with colleagues and leaders to ensure safe, effective outcomes.

Qualifications include frame machine proficiency, body repair certification, and I-CAR welding credentials, along with the ability to supervise and analyze repair data.

Qualifications

• Ability to use a frame machine.
• Certification in body repair preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer.
• I-CAR welding certified.
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
• Ability to supervise repair personnel.
• Must be able to pass thorough background check.

Responsibilities

• Examines damaged vehicle and plans repair process.
• Communicates with teammates on repair status.
• Performs quality repairs while maintaining on-time status.
• Decides on repair vs. replace considering safety, cost, and cycle time.
• Removes upholstery, electrical and window equipment to gain access to vehicle.
• Attends required safety meetings.
• Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces with tools.
• Directs an apprentice in tasks and explains procedures as needed.
